Bexar County deputies arrested a man accused of sexually assaulting a woman at his far west Bexar County home.

Paul Marceaux, 40, was charged Tuesday with felony sexual assault and booked into the Bexar County Jail with bail set at $80,000.

At about midnight on Feb. 28, deputies went to a home in the 10000 block of Caliban after a man there said a woman was at his doorstep pleading for help. She told the homeowner that she had escaped from an attacker and asked him to call 911.

The woman told deputies that she met with Marceaux at a bar in the La Cantera area before they went to his house in the 12000 block of Big Valley Creek — about a mile from where she was found — to discuss a business opportunity, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.

When Marceaux and the woman arrived, he allegedly sexually assaulted her. She told deputies that he forced her to take a shower, which gave her an opportunity to escape.

During the investigation, deputies identified Marceaux and arrested him a few hours later.
